Pool C sees the might of Australia join the competition as they embark on what they hope will be a successful tournament in New Zealand, the Aussies have won the Rugby World Cup twice before and are being well backed to win a third tournament in 2011. Australia has been developing well in recent years with a fantastic young back line but they will need to be on form as they come up against a couple of top teams here.
Ireland will be the biggest test for the Aussies in Group C as they come down to the Southern hemisphere, while Italy make up the third of the bigger teams in Pool C but even they will face a tough task to compete in this company. The two smaller teams drawn in Pool C are Russia and the United States who will be looking to give their more illustrious opponents a match and in reality have no real chance of making it through to the last eight.
There are a couple of stand-out fixtures in Pool C for punters and fans to look forward, the big game will of course be Australia meeting Ireland at Eden Park, while the Irish will also know that they clash with Italy in the final game in a match that could decide which team joins the Aussies in the last eight.
